Cheap Deals On xenon super bright led flashlights

Terrible mount, but good construction., March 7, 2010

Warning – Not made for recoil!!!

I will start off by saying that when I first got this I was impressed by the quality of the construction. It is a bit hefty, but it’s made of solid aluminum and looks good. The light isn’t super bright, but should be decent for making positive ID of home intruders and the laser works just as well. I did notice that the the mount did not have a cross bar to hold it in when mounted on a rail. All it has is two screws to grab/pinch the rail from the sides. Anyways, I mounted it on my Glock 19 (9mm) and tightened up the screws. I liked the way it looked and it balanced well. At the range I quickly adjusted the laser to match the gun’s sights at about 10 yards. First shot was great and it hit dead on. Well after 8 shots it FELL OFF!! I was not happy at all and felt robbed of $65. I was done with it after that, but I will try it again the next time I shoot and will really crank down on the screws. If that doesn’t work, I’m just gonna have to try it on my Polish Tantal Ak74 which has little to no recoil. If that doesn’t work out I’ll mount it in my trash can.

I bought this recently for mounting on the railing on my security shotgun. Incredible quality. Rugged as a giant chunk of metal, but light as cheap plastic. (It’s actually made of aircraft aluminum.) It has an ultra bright red laser with sensitive adjustments, easily seen in the day, along with one of the brightest flashlights I’ve ever seen. It even comes with batteries and a tin with foam on the inside with mold-cutting so the pieces fit snugly. And as an added perk, the mounting can be for ribbed and non-ribbed tactical rail (weaver, although standard picatanny is the same measurement, different ribbing).

Overall, it leaves you wanting nothing, but the pressure switch which is nowhere to be found, though the package never claimed it was supposed to be there, though there is room for it in the case it comes with.

I got interested in this combo after using a friend’s Streamlight TLR-2. The Streamlight was well over $200 so I thought for the money I would try this one. I am pleasantly surprised. The laser is visible in daylight to over 150 yards. It puts out a good amount of light at night, certainly enough to see effectively beyond 70 yards. Although the Streamlight has a crisper, brighter light, this UTG is a good alternative, especially for the price. It is more than adequate for most situations, and is blinding within 20 yards. The only drawback I saw was that the batteries were dead when I got it. I am going to be buying more of these for rifle applications. The light and laser go far beyond the range of any handgun or shotgun, and are suited for rifle applications. It’s not the best one out there, but it’s the best for the money.
